Windows Azure

Windows Azure is an open and flexible cloud platform that enables you to quickly build, deploy and manage applications across a global network of Microsoft-managed datacentres. You can build applications using any language, tool or framework. And you can integrate your public cloud applications with your existing IT environment.

Inventise can supply your web solution on Windows Azure or traditional hosting. We also specialise in Azure hosted websites using the popular DNN content management system; the only open source mainstream fully cloud enabled CMS.

Always up, always on

Windows Azure delivers a 99.95% monthly SLA and enables you to build and run highly available applications without focusing on the infrastructure. It provides automatic OS and service patching, built in network load balancing and resiliency to hardware failure. It supports a deployment model that enables you to upgrade your application without downtime.

Windows Azure enables you to easily scale your applications to any size. It is a fully automated self-service platform that allows you to provision resources within minutes. Elastically grow or shrink your resource usage based on your needs. You only pay for the resources your application uses. Windows Azure is available in multiple datacentres around the world, enabling you to deploy your applications close to your customers.

Pay as you go

Microsoft Azure allows you to pay for what you use rather than the maximum load scenario. With traditional hosting you need to plan for the worst case scenario meaning an eCommerce site would need a server set-up big enough to handle the Christmas load when in reality the rest of the year will see a fraction of that traffic. The same is true of a festival website which will see most of its traffic when the event is taking place yet the months and weeks leading up to the event will typically involve the same machine being in place in a very underused capacity.

Microsoft Azure allows you only upgrade your feature as and when you need them. When the increased loading period has passed, the features can be downgraded again. On top of this cost saving, the inherent redundancy against hardware failure provided an unparallel hosting service in today’s marketplace. DNN (DotNetNuke) is the only one of the big four Open Source Content Management Systems (CMS) built specifically to support Windows Azure. Inventise specialise in developing for and hosting DNN in Azure and can provide migration of existing DNN websites and web applications to Azure if required.
